On February 11, 2024, IDAKA & CO., LTD. celebrated 100 years since our founding.
This of course would not have been possible without the support of our customers, suppliers, and partners both in Japan and overseas, as well as our predecessors, executives, and employees. I am truly grateful for all your support.
We began our journey as “IDAKA SHOKAI” in 1924, survived the turmoil of post-war reconstruction, and grew together alongside Japan’s manufacturing and automobile industries. And I’m very proud to say that the relationships of trust we built you all during this time have been an irreplaceable asset to us.
Together with our long-standing mission as a trading company to bring together customers and suppliers, I am keenly aware of the need for new initiatives to address rapid change. I don’t know what the next 100 years hold in store, but we hope that Japan will maintain its leadership as a major manufacturing nation, and that we will continue to grow as a trinity together with our customers and suppliers. And to that end, we are determined to work tirelessly to make this a reality.
We are told that we are living in an era in which we will witness the kind of revolution seen only once every 100 years, but we intend to contribute to the future of manufacturing in Japan while continuing to maintain the “hands-on approach” that we have treasured over the many years since our founding, and to become even a little closer to the ideal trading company necessary to our customers, all while leveraging our company’s advantages as a trading company to the fullest extent possible.
